Mrs. Annie Fuller Passes Away
Death unexpectedly yesterday afternoon [20 November 1922] removed one of Danville's oldest residents, Mrs. Annie Catherine Fuller who passed away quietly at 140 Main Street at about half past two o'clock. She was 95 years of age.
Mrs Fuller last week had an attack of pneumonia but had apparently overcome it. All day yesterday she was in bright spirits and, as ever, keenly appreciative of everything that was being done for her. She had just been talking to her trained nurse when she lapsed into unconsciousness and was dead within two or three minutes.
Mrs. Fuller had been an invalid for the past five years or from the day she fell and broke her hip. Notwithstanding this confinement she had remarkably well preserved faculties and she remained fully conversant with world affairs almost until her death. One of the most enjoyed events of the day for her was perusal of the daily paper which she read unaided maintaining interest in national and world affairs and discussing them with discrimination.
Mrs. Fuller was a daughter of the late Carter Powell and Sallie A. Moore, being born in Caswell County in the distant year of 1827. she lived for some time at Blanche, N.C., and then she moved to Bachelor's Hall. She was married to A. G. Fuller in 1847 and moved to Danville in 1865 making her home here ever since. Her husband who died about twelve years ago was prominently identified with Danville's tobacco industry. They had seven children but Mrs. Fuller outlived all but two, James E. Fuller and John E. Fuller both of this city. She also leaves five grand children, Albert Patton, W. F. Patton, Winston Edwards, Miss Janie Edwards, and W. A. Fuller, and a great grandchild.
Mrs. Fuller was for many years a member of Mount Vernon Methodist Church being probably one of the oldest members. During her early life here she was active in affairs and was well known and widely esteemed. She was endowed with many fine traits of character and through her lond period of confinement had shown exemplary Christian fortitude.
The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the home on South Main Street.
_______________
Note that The Heritage of Caswell County, North Carolina, Jeannine D. Whitlow, Editor (1985) at 139-140 (Article #100 "Family of Jefferson Davis Butler" by Louise Powell Butler) reports a Mary Ann Powell as the daughter of Carter Powell and Sarah Bates Moore and that she married A. G. Fuller. That they are the same person has not been confirmed.

Oleta was educated at Flora High School in Flora, Oregon. Along with being a farm wife and young mother, she also taught school. She rode horseback with the three oldest children to teach her students. Her married life was spent working along side Ira dairying, raising a garden, canning fruits and vegetables, cooking, cleaning & all the multitude of chores associated with each. She also did a lot of sewing making clothes & creating quilts that were given to her grandchildren. Because of the hardships of of raising ten children during the 1930's depression, out on homesteaded ground, nothing went to waste in creating gifts for her family & decorations around her home. Died at her Lyle Gulch home of heart failure. She commented she was tired while tending her garden and went in the house to lay down. She passed away in her sleep. | Hansen, Oleta Fern (I0009)

Biographical Narrative:
Nels J. Hansen was born in Denmark. Little is known about his childhood. He
came to the USA in his early teens. He became a carpenter and millwright. He
moved to the Spokane, WA area and worked to construct the first flour mill in
that area. Later he and his family moved to North East Oregon and settled in
the Flora, Wallowa and Lostine area. He operated the post office and store in
Lostine for several years. He died at the home of his daughter, Ethe,l in Salem,
Oregon.
Information received from KLV who received letter from Landsarkivet for Sjaelland M. M., "In reply to your letter of June 6 to Haerens Arkive, we can inform you that Niels Jorgen Hansen was born 22 Oct 1867 in the parish of Bjernede (County of Soro). His mother was Maren Hansen and the putative father was Hans Iversen who lived in the village of Fuldby (parish of Bjernede). He was brought up by his maternal grandfather, Hans Christensen who was a carpenter in the village of Ebberup (parish of Bjernede). He immigrated 25 August 1885 having Lamar in Missouri as his destination. Consequently Hans Peter Nielsen was not the father of Niels Jorgen Hansen. We have found a Hans Peter Nielson who was baptized in the church of Alsted (County of Soro) 13 January 1847. He was a son of a smallholder, Niels Christensen, and immigrated to the united States between 1868 and 1870." | Hansen, Niels Jorgen (I1386)

Spelling of name changes to Arnn
ABIHU4 ARNN (George Washington3 Sr, Abraham2 Aron Sr, Jacob1 Aaron)22, 23, 24 was born on 23 Sep 1807 in Pittsylvania, Virginia, USA22, 23, 24. He died on 24 Feb 1893 in Conway, Arkansas, USA. He married MARGARET REYNOLDS BLAIR on 26 Oct 1829 in Pittsylvania, Virginia, daughter of Samuel Brittain Blair Sr and Mary "Polly" Reynolds. She was born on 24 Apr 1811 in Pittsylvania, Virginia, USA22, 24, 25. She died on 07 Nov 1876 in Independence, Arkansas, USA.
Notes for Abihu Arnn:
I have changed the spelling from Aaron based on a photocopy of a page from the family bible of Abihu Arnn [clearly spelled Arnn] Abihu and Margaret Blair's marriage listed in "Marriages of Pittsylvania County, Virginia,
1806-1830" by Kathleen B. Williams from LA, p 32: from a letter from a W. C. Blair, a minister at Guilford College North Carolina, dated 21 September 1924 to Mrs. Myrtle Blair Motley. "In 1881 the minister had visited several months at 'Uncle Abihu's' in Arkansas. His Aunt Peggy [as Margaret Blair Arnn was called] was already dead and Abihu was living with his daughter Mary Ann who had married a John Houston. Abihu had two daughters living there--Mary Ann and Fanny."
Other letters provide info that two sisters - Peggy and Ann married Aarons and they went to Arkansas when they first married - in actuality, they went to Tennessee first, then
Arkansas. Abihu and Berryman Arnn and their spouses moved first to Henry County, Tennessee and then to Arkansas; Abihu acquired 50 acres of land through the Little Rock land office in 1879 REF: Arkansas-pre. Do not know if he lived in the Sidney Arkansas area prior to that or not. The
surname is spelled ARNN in this document. I do not know at what point he changed the spelling. Notes for Margaret Reynolds Blair:
Date of Margaret's birth and death are recorded on family page of a bible owned by Abihu Arnn.
Abihu Arnn and Margaret Reynolds Blair had the following children:
i. MARY ANN5 ARNN was born on 11 Nov 1831 in Tennessee, USA. She died on 30 Jan 1884. She married JOHN HAWKINS HOUSTON on 06 Mar 1856 in Arkansas, USA.

ii.GEORGE SAMUEL ARNN was born on 28 Jul 1834 in Tennessee, USA. He died on 04 Jul 1863 in Arkansas, USA. He married CYNTHIA ANN JONES on 27 Sep 1853 in Arkansas.
