      Burnett's Deed
      fm Devin

      This Indenture made the Twentyeth day of April in the year of
      our Lord Chrst One thousand seven hundred and eight nine Betwixt
      Robert Devin of the County of Pittsylvania of the one part and Benjamin
      Burnett Senr of the sd of the other part Witnesseth that the said
      Robert Devin for and Inconsideration of the sum of One hundred pounds
      Lawfull Money of Virginia to him in hand paid and sattisfied by the sd
      Benjamin Burnett the receipt whereof him the said Robert Devin doth
      hereby acknowledge Hath bargain Sold, Enfeoffed and confirmed and
      by these Present Do absolutely give grant bargain Sell Enfeoff and
      confirm unto the said Benjamin Burnett Senr one certain tract or parcel
      of Land lying and being in the County aforesaid containing Two hundred
      and ninety three Acres be the same more of less and Bounded as followith
      To Wit, Beginning at a White oak on Thomas Boaz’s line on the weast
      side of Straberry thence along the sd nearly east four hundred and eighty
      poles to a red Oak thence North ninety poles to a Poplar on the long
      branch, thence North seventy one degress weast three hundred poles to
      a red Oak thence nerely North to a Chesnut on Chamberlin’s line
      thence along the same crossing the creek to pointers, thence Weast forty
      degrees South to the beginning And all rite title and claim of him the
      sd Robert Devin for himself and his heirs or any part of them the above
      Granted tract or parcel of Land unto the sd Benjamin Burnett Senr his
      Heirs Exors and Admr forever to the only proper use and behoof of him
      the sd Benjamin Burnett Senr his heirs and assigns foever will warrant
      maintain and And defend from the claims of any person or persons
      whatsoever in Witness where the said Robert Devin hath hereunto
      set his hand and Seal the year and date first above written

      The within Indenture was acknowledged by the within named
