Mary Scripture

Mary married Eleazer Lawrence about 1698 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Eleazer (son of Peleg Lawrence and Elizabeth Morse) was born on 28 Feb 1673/74 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts; died on 09 Jul 1754 in Pepperrell, Middlesex, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

He was admitted as a voter in Littleton in 1738, but did not reside there long. He removed to Groton West Parish, afterwards Pepperell, where he became actively interested in town and church affairs. He served as selectman of Groton three years, and was twice chosen deer-reeve. He was named a Deacon in the church on 23 Aug 1754.
He was the oldest son of Eleazer.

Peleg married Ruth Brown after 13 Apr 1728 in Stow, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Ruth (daughter of Jabez Brown, Jr. and Sarah) was born about 1710 in Stow, Middlesex, Massachusetts; died on 07 Oct 1757 in Pepperrell, Middlesex, Massachusetts. [Group Sheet]

Notes:

He was the youngest son of Deacon Peleg, and grandson of Major Eleazer. He probably passed his youth and earlier years of his married lif e in Pepperell District, where his father had settled, but previous to the Rewvolution her removed to Groton, where he lived in a house about one mile east of the village. This was the birthplace of most of his children. He and his wife were "receved from Pepperell," 4 Sep 1774 according to the Groton Church Records. He was a Capt in the militia for Groton and marched with his men on 19 Apr 1775, though they did not reach Lexington or Concord in time to be in those battles. They went to Cambridge and guarded that area for awhile. He and his men were at the Battle of Bunker Hill. Asa White and his brother, Francis, were also there, but in Capt. Henry Farwell's unit. His name appears on the "Coat Rolls" along with Asa and Francis White and the others in the two untis from Groton. (Every man who fought was to get a coat as part of their pay with evidence of eight months service.)

Asa married Abigail King on 27 Jul 1757 in Littleton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Abigail (daughter of Richard King and Elizabeth Rowland) was born on 30 Jul 1736 in Littleton, Middlesex, Massachusetts; died on 12 Jan 1829 in Claremont, Cheshire, New Hampshire U.S.A.. [Group Sheet]

Rowland married Mahala Worcester on 29 Sep 1786 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts. Mahala (daughter of Jonathan Worcester and Lucy Green) was born on 22 Jul 1764 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts; was christened on 05 Aug 1764 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts; died on 30 Jul 1790 in Groton, Middlesex, Massachusetts U.S.A..
