Especially appealing was the Mebane collection of handmade and decorated baby-garments and other age costumes as well. The most outstanding article shown in the Children's Room was Mrs. Mebane's flannel petticoat. Obviously it is a genuine antique because the owner, Edna Watkins Mebane, is 101.
