Thomas Jefferson, fourth son of Peter Field and Elizabeth married Elizabeth Ball d/o John and Mary Patton Ball. Thomas and Elizabeth's family Bible gives his birthplace as Mecklenburg, Co., Virginia and says that Elizabeth Ball was born in Pennsylvania 1/1/1768. Their children were Jane, b. Nov 22, 1806; Thomas b Nov. 2, 1808; John, 24 August 1810. Elizabeth Ball Jefferson never married again, bringing up her three small children alone. Her death record in the county states that she died 27 Dec 1856.
