2. | Lewis Hubbell Judson was born on 06 Aug 1809 in Amenia, Dutchess, New York U.S.A. (son of Lewis Judson and Sally Hubbell); died on 03 Mar 1880 in Marion County, Oregon U.S.A.; was buried in Salem Pioneer Cemetery, Salem, Marion, Oregon U.S.A.. Notes:
In Amenia, Dutchess County, New York, he learned his father's trade of
wood working, the manufacture of spinning wheels and other wooden articles.
At the age of eighteen he began teaching school. He taught in dutchess,
Delaware, and Otsego Counties. He met and married Elmira Roberts in Otsego
County, New York and there their three older children were born. On
October 9,1839 the Lewis Hubbell Judson family, his sister Adelia and her
husband James Olley with forty-five other members of the "Great
Reenforcement" to the Oregon Methodist Mission, left New York harbor in the
Barque, Lausanne, for Oregon. They landed at Fort Vancouver on the Columbia
River in the Oregon Country on the first day of June 1840.
Judson was known as a versatile, if blunt and stubborn man. Judson and his first wife, Almira Roberts, had four children. Two years after Almira's death, in 1846, he married Nancy Hawkins. "Addendum to Chart of the Judson Family" by Richard L. French 1993 has death date of 1878.

Elmira Roberts met and married her husband Lewis Hubbel Judson in Otsego
County. Their three older children were born there. On October 9, 1839
the Lewis Hubbell Judson family left New York harbor in the Barque Lausanne
for Oregon. They landed at Fort Vancouver on the Columbia River in the
Oregon Country on the first day of June 1840.

Nathaniel Judson's son, Lewis Judson, followed the occupation of his father, established his factory at Amenia Dutchess County, New York.
The Judson family remained in Stratford Connecticut at the family home until after the American Revolution, when Nathaniel Judson who had spent much time in the Continental Army settleed after that war at Newton, Connecticut.

The Nathaniel Judson who served, died after 1832 in Albany, New York (see the Pension records). In fact, records show this family was in Newtown, Connecticut before and during the American Revolution.]

Nathaniel Judson a revolutionary soldier, with Washington on Long Island, Schuyler in Northern New York, a Yoman at the capture of St. Jons, Adjutant of the Fourth Regiment of Connecticut Troops from May 1777 to November 1779 and in other positions to the end of the war.

His pension records show a different wife and children for the man who did the above service. (see the Pension records for Nathaniel Judson from the National Archives).]
