      Richard Anderson, SR. (born 1585) departed from the Port of London, on the ship "Merchant's Hope," on July 31 1635. (He was 50 years old); (Ref. Hotten's List of Emigrants to America, 1600-1700). His son, Richard Anderson, Jr. had embarked for Virginia on an earlier voyage, July 4, 1635, aboard the ship "Transport." They are both listed in Hotten's "The Original lists of Persons of Quality" under this heading, "Register of the names of all ye passinger wch passed from ye Port of London for on whole yeare endinge at Xmas 1635. His sons, Sons John and Thomas remained in England.
