    1. 4.  Irbin Finley Devin was born on 06 Feb 1806 in Lincoln County, Tennessee U.S.A.; died on 11 Jul 1836 in Washington County, Arkansas U.S.A..

      Notes:

Irbin Finley Devin is not a descendant of William Devin (d:180) of Pittsylvania County Virginia.

Considerable resarch time and effort has gone into linking Irbin Finley Devin to the Devin families out of Pittsylvania County Virginia. His proximity in time and location to the other Devin families in Lincoln County Tennessee, who are descendants from Pittsylvania County, suggested a possible family link.

However, DNA testing shows males from the Irbin Finley Devin lines and the males from the William Devin (d:1802) lines out of Pittsylvania County do not share a common ancestor for more than 50 generations. In fact, DNA samples from the Irbin Finley Devin lines do not closely match any of the major clusters with a surname variation of Devin.

More yDNA samples are needed from multiple males lines descendant from Irbin Finley Devin to establish the genetic markers for Irbin. If the current DNA markers for Irbin hold true, it suggests either an adoption or non-marital pregnacy.

Irbin married Hannah Crawford in 1827 in Lincoln County, Tennessee U.S.A.. Hannah was born in abt.1805 in Virginia U.S.A.. [Group Sheet]
