Richard Carter (-1795) married Susanna Bigger in Prince Edward County 29 December (bond) 1772. Susanna, as administratrix, delivered the inventory of Richard?s estate of taken 18 February 1796. Susanna married second David Powell 17 November 1796, and Powell became guardian to her three younger children, Richard, Samuel, and Nancy, by September 1797. A chancery suit of November 1796 identified Richard?s heirs as John Carter, who was then of age, and minors, Thomas, Lemuel, William, Mary, Richard, Samuel, and Nancy

researcher found he married Mary Thomas.

Dated 1831; The marriage Record for Richard Carter and Catherine Brandon is 1822. If these children are listed as the grandchildren of Francis Brandon, f/o Catherine who married Richard Carter, then these are the children of Richard Carter.
