      Text Services for Roy E. Devin, 86, of Tulia will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rob Lindley officiating.

      Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia.

      He died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001.

      He was born July 31, 1915, in Tulia and married Virginia Clayton on June 29, 1946, in Commerce. He graduated from Tulia High School and West Texas Teachers College in Canyon. He taught school at Anthony Union High School in Anthony, N.M., from 1939 to 1942. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II from 1942 to 1946.

      He moved to Tulia in 1946, taught school there for six years and farmed. He was manager of Penta Farm Supply from 1957 until 1982. He continued to farm until retiring.

      He was a director of Tulia Chamber of Commerce and First State Bank. He was a member of the Tulia school board and First United Methodist Church and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

      Survivors include his wife; a son, Clayton E. of Dallas; two brothers, Albert P. and Delbert L., both of Tulia; three sisters, Mattie B. Devin and Catherine D. Sprawls, both of Tulia, and Lena D. Allen of Canyon; and one grandchild.
