      Devin Senr

      This Indenture made this Twenty Second day of November
      in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand Seven hundred and
      Ninety Six Between William Devin Senr of the
      County of
      Pittsylvania of the one part, and Edward Nunnelee of the County
      aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that the said William
      Devin Senr for and in Consideration of the Sum of ninety pounds
      Lawful Money of Virginia to him in hand paid and Satisfied
      by the Said Edward Nunnelee the Receipt Whereof the said
      Devin doth hereby acknowledge hath bargained Sold enfeoffed
      and confirmed ^&^ by these presents doth absolutely give grant
      bargain Sell enfeoff and confirm unto the said Edward
      Nunnelee one Certain tract or parcel of Land Lying and
      being in the County aforesaid on both sides of Banister River
      Containing Ninety acres more or less being part of the Tract the
      said Devin purchased of Leak and Bounded as followeth
      to Wit, Beginning at pointers in Leaks line, and along the
      same, North eighty one degrees east thirty nine poles to a Red
      Oak, South Twenty nine Degrees east one hundred and Twenty
      three po.s to a White Oak, South thirty four east Seventy two
      poles to a Red Oak, thence new lines North eighty one degrees

      West forty poles to the head of a Branch and Down the said Branch
      as it Meanders to a poplar on Banister River aforesaid thence up
      the same as it Meanders across thirty four poles to a poplar thence
      off new lines North eighty eight degrees West Ninety four poles
      to pointers North fifty five east Seventy five pols to a Beach on
      the River below the Mill thence crossing the said River, North
      Seven degrees east fifty nine poles to the Beginning and the right
      of him the said William Devin Senr for himself his heirs etc. the
      above granted Tract or parcel of Land with all Improvements
      conveniences, profits & advantages to it belonging or in any wise
      appertaining unto the said Edward Nunnelee his heirs and assigns
      will forever Warrant maintain and defend from the Claim or Claims
      of any person or persons Whatsoever Lawfully Claiming or
      pretending to the same and that he the said Edward Nunnelee
      his heirs assigns etc. is hereby allowed by the said William Devin
      Senr to have Quiet and peaceable possession of the said Land In
      Witness whereof the said William Devin Senr hath
