      This Indenture made this 2nd day of January 1819
      between Richard B. Beck of Pittsylvania County and State of Virginia of the one part and Kerenhappuck S. Shumate of the same place of the other part,

      Witnesseth, that the said Beck doth for the sum of one hundred and ninety two dollars to him in hand paid by the said Shumate, the receipt whereof is hereby
      acknowledged, grant sell and confirm unto the said Shumate and her heirs forever one certain tract or parcel of land in Pittsylvania County on the branches of
      Morrison's branch of Sandy River, containing by estimation sixty four acres be it more or less and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at Barge's post oak,
      thence with Flourney's lines South 28 degrees 88 poles to a red oak North 68 degrees 94 poles to a spanish oak near a quarry of rocks, thence with Uhls line North
      39 degrees West 136 poles to pointers in the same South 44 degrees West 78 poles to the beginning, together with all rights, interest, profits or privileges thereto
      belonging to the said Beck will forever warrant and defend the above land and premises in fee simple from the just or lawful claim or claims of all persons
      whatsoever to the only proper use and behalf of the said Kerenhappuck S. Shumate and her heirs forever. In Witness whereof the said Richard B. Beck hath
      hereunto set and affixed his hand and seal the day and year first above written.
