      Devin’s Deed
      fm Boaz

      This Indenture made this the fourth day of November in the year of
      our Lord Christ One Thousand seven hundred and eighty eight Betwixt
      Abednego Boaz of the County of Buckingham of the one part and Robert Divin
      of the County of Pittsylvania of the other part Witnesseth that the sd Abednego
      Boaz for and Inconsideration of the sum of Seventy five pounds Lawfull money
      of Virginia to him in hand paid and sattisfied by the said Robert Divin the
      Receipt whereof him the said Abednego Boaz doth hereby acknowledge hath
      bargained Sold, Enfeoffed and confirmed and by thes presents do absolutely
      Give grant, bargain, Sell, Enfeoff and confirm unto the said Robert Devin
      one certain tract or parcel of Land lying and being in the County of Pittsylvania
      containing Two hundred and ninety three acres, be the same more of less, and
      bounded as followith, to witt, Beginning in a white oak on Thomas Boaz’s line
      on the west side of Strabbirry, thence along the said Boaz’s line nerely east
      four hundred and eighty poles to red Oak, thence North nineteen poles to a
      Poplar on the long branch, thence North seventy one degrees West three hundred
      poles to a red Oak, thence nerely North to a Chesnut on Chamberlin’s lines, thence
      along the same crossing the Creek to pointers, thence West forty degrees South to
      the beginning, And all Rite, Tittle and claim of him the said Abednego Boaz for
      himself and his heirs or any part of them the above granted tract or parcel of
      Land unto the said Robert Devin his heirs Exors and Admr forever to the only
      proper use and behoof of him the sd Robert Devin his heirs and assigns for
      ever will warrant maintain and defend from the claim of any person or persons
