News: After 30 years, Devin Timber is being decommissioned! After January 2027, this site will no longer be available. Web hosting costs continue to raise at rates that cannot be sustained on a limited income. In addition, finding volunteer expertise needed to administer the technical side of hosting a site, such as this, is challenging.

A Devin Timber group project has been set up at FamilySearch.org. FamilySearch has the tools and the long experience with collaborative genealogy and is available to everyone without cost. All documents and citations found on the current Devin Timber are being migrated to the records on FamilySearch.

If you have access to Ancestry, a public member tree, named "Devin Progeny," is a copy of the tree on the current Devin Timber. The Devin Progeny tree is being used to help evaluate research accuracy using the DNA samples from descendants of William & Sarah Devin. The Ancestry Devin Progeny tree will not be supported with documentation or citations due to the cost of Ancestry subscriptions.

Recorded 21.April.1788; Deed from John Biswell to Robert Divin for 230 acres in Pittsylvania County adjoining Jenkins on both sides of Little Strawberry creek. Robert Devin paid 200 Pounds on 27.November.1787 for the parcel.
Page 372-373 — Divin's deed from Boaz

Recorded 20.April.1789; Deed from Abednego Boaz to Robert Divin for 293 acres on Strawberry Creek in Pittsylvania County. Tract purchased by Robert Devin on 04.November.1788 for 75 Pounds.
Page 373 — Burnett's deed from Devin

Recorded 20.April.1789; Deed from Robert Devin to Benjamin Burnett, Sr. for 293 acres on the west side of Strawberry Creek adjoining Thomas Boaz and Chamberlain. Tract sold by Robert Devin on 20.April.1789 for 100 Pounds. The tract was purchased from Abednego Boaz on 04.November.1788.
