- Pryor Reynolds by Donna A. Stowe: Bassett Historical Center Route 7, Box 250 Bassett, Va 24055 John M. Reynolds parents, Pryor Reynolds and Prudence Morehead moved around alot. We find children being born in Tennessee, Alabama and NC They left Tennessee in 1819 lived in Alabama until 1827 when they returned to Rockingham Co. N.C. John M., their son, married twice to Ann Dillard d/o James and Lucy and 2) Frances Dillard. At this time, no relationship between the two wives can be found. John M. Reynolds was a successful merchant in Leaksville where he died on 9 Jul 1860.

- Pryor Reynolds, son of Geo. and Susanna Reynolds, moved to TN in 1809, living in Williamson County until 1819. He then moved to Lawrence County, Alabama, where he resided until 1827, when he moved to Rockingham County, NC. near his childhood home. Two children, Elizabeth and Martha died in childhood. Pryor lived near the town of Draper, where he died 5 Oct 1858. He was buried in the family graveyard, alongside his wife Prudence. Pryor's name is (Catherine Pryor) his grandmother's maiden name.
