Notes |
- Addison Lafayette Edwards, it appears is the second husband of Sarah Frances Powell. 1850 Census record shows his brother William T. Edwards in the household of his wife, Sarah Frances and her grandmother, Polly Carter Powell. My mother relayed to me before her death that her grandfather was Addison Lafayette Edwards, born according to his headstone, in 1845. I recently found a marriage record for Sarah Frances and William T. Edwards, who is the brother of Addison. His wife, Sarah Frances Powell, d/o William Jefferson Powell and Elizabeth Allen Carter was probably married to both brothers; Addison being at least 5 years younger than his wife. Addison and Sarah were married until his death in 1892. My grandmother, Mattie Frances Edwards, was the 5th child of Sarah, born in 1876. -Mary Frances Eggleston
