Harold Thomas Jester followed in his father's footsteps and became an ordained Baptist minister. 5 years after his marriage to Sara Hughey he died, leaving a pregnant widow and a young son. His widow relacated to Virginia from South Carolina and never remarried. His orphan son, John (Jackie or Jack) married Mary Frances Reynolds and produced 4 chldren.

Rev. Harold Thomas Jester contracted what was later diagnosed as the flu and was treated with the new "wonder drug" called sulphathiasol. When he had a "reaction" his doctor doubled the dose. His kidneys collapsed and he died at about age 30. His wife, Sara was pregnant with their second child.
