He married ELIZABETH M. ADKINS July 29, 1839 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, daughter of HENRY ADKINS and ELIZABETH ROSSETT. She was born June 1823 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and died Abt. 1903 in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

        Notes for JACKSON ADKINS:
        On the pension application Elizabeth notes that her husband, Jackson, served in Co. C, 5th Res(erves) (Vol 15, page 448, Muster rolls, VSLA) and died March 14, 1864 "at home on furlough from dropsy contracted in the Army. A Pittsylvania Co. record of deaths, 1850-1890 indicates death ca. 1862.
