Notes |
- Early records of Groton show that Joseph Sr., original proprietor of Groton, removed from Chelmsford to Groton before 5 Mar 1665, with several other families. He and the others were forced to leave the town during King Phillip's War, after the town was burned in Mar 1676. He probably went to Concord where he died.
He died soon after the Indian raid at Groton in Mar 1676 in Concord, where the family had fled. His widow and children then stayed in the area of Concord that became Stow.
