- Widow Constance Crosby had an acre and half house lot in 1643, which was owned by John Pickard aafter her death. In later records it is called a "two acre lot". She probably came with Rev Ezekiel Rogers' company and brought her three daughters. Her husband and two sons had died in England before she came to New England. On 4 May 1674 she petitioned the Court as Ipswich: "to this Honourd Coourt now sitting at Ipswich: 4.3.1674 Constnce Crosbie Grandmother to this Orphan Sarah Lonhorne understanding that Daniell Wickam is like to be perswaded to accept of Gardianship for her: I thinking that she had need of one that hathe more experienc to oversee her and for other Reasons I am very unwilling & doe desire that such a thing may not be proceeded in or Granted till Thomas Longhorne of Cambridg her uncle Knowes & Gives his Consent; for he takes more care of the children then I expec ted he would have don : not more at psent your poor & Humble servant & Handmaide Custance Crosbie"
