- Genealogy of the Judson Family in Oregon
Compiled by Lewis Edward Judson--1961
Genealogy of the Judson Family in earliest Oregon as copied by
Lewis H. Judson in 1874, from the family Bible which was brought by
his ancesters from Old England.
William Judson and his wife Grace and their sons Joseph, Jeremiah, and
Joshua, emigrated from the North Riding of Yorkshire in Old England to the
Massachusettes Colony, in 1634. After residing four years at Concord in
the Colony of Massachusetts, they with twelve other families, finding that
they had not found the liberty which they desired, chartered a small vessel
and sailed around Cape Cod and down the Massachusettes, Rhode Island and
Connecticut coasts, landing at the mouth of the Housatonic River, where
they founded the town of Stratford, in the Colony of Connecticut.
