James B. Moore was the first U.S. Postmaster at Blanch, Caswell County, North Carolina, which operated from 19 December 1890 until the latter part of the twentieth century. Source: Caswell County, North Carolina Post Offices. Tradition holds that the community served by this post office was named for the daughter of James Byrd Moore, Blanche Lydia Moore.
