Foster owned a dairy farm in Caswell County, North Carolina, that processed milk and delivered it locally. Here is a remembrance by a Yanceyville customer: "Boy do I remember getting Foster's Dairy Milk! In glass bottles on the front porch, cream on top, and in really cold weather, pushing the cap up because the milk froze and expanded ! Unfortunately, I also remember that the cows would sometimes get into the wild onions (and the wild onions got into the cows) and the taste would be in the milk."
