He attended school at Waterloo and later in Wood County have come here with his parents in 1876. He helped to clear original Dawes property here and has lived here all his life with the exception years spent in Minnesota and eight years in Waterloo. In 1917, he bought 120 acres in Section 25, Wood Township and has since been engaged in farming and dairying, keeping a good herd of Holsten Cattle. He has taken an active and useful part in public affairs and was for nine years assessor for the township, for one year township supevisor and for 12 years treasurer school district.
