- CHARLES W. BROWN: 57, North East, died Sunday, Sept. 25, in Veterans Administration Hospital at Perry Point. Mr. Brown had retired six months ago from Aberdeen Proving Ground after more than 20 years as a civilian gunner. He had also been employed by the State Department of Forests and Parks and had been a rural mail carrier in the North East area. Mr. Brown was a U.S. Army veteran of World War 11, a member of American Legion Post 15 of Elkton, Veteran of Foreign Wars Post 6027 of North East, and North East Fire Company where he had served as chief and was a member of the board of directors. He was a member of Red Men Shawenah Lodge 105 of North East and of the Air Force Association. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary B. Brown, one daughter, Miss Mary Alice Brown, at home, one brother, Earl F. Brown of Baltimore, and one sister, Mrs. Helen R. Gibson of Carpenter?s Point. Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 28, in Grant Funeral Home at Rising Sun with the Rev. Charles H. Poukish of North East United Methodist Church, officiating.
