- Christopher also served in the Civil War. He was in Company B. 385y Regiment of Virginia which was part of Armistead's Brigade Army. He was severely wounded on 1 Jul 1862 in the Battle of "Crews Farm" on Malvert Hill while carring the colors. He continued in the Army and served as a blacksmith until January 1865. He was at Appomattox when General R. E. Lee met with Grant.
