Page 55 — William Cook, 400 acres (plot)
Survey recorded 13.November.1757 for William Cook by P.S.Walton. Contains 400 acres on both sides of Bannister River. Note: This survey is listed because it is referenced in other Devin surveys. This land was later acquired by William Devin, Sr., and was divided as part of his estate.
Transcribed by David Devin on 07.May.1999 from Survey Book 1 page 55 at the Pittsylvania County, Virginia Courthouse. The survey was evidently copied from Halifax County Virginia records. My appologies for any mistakes interpreting the handwriting. The survey is added to Devin Timber because it is the basis of a survey for William Devin. Later, William Devin took possession of this land and it was divided in the will of William Devin, Sr.
Note: The metes and bounds information was included in the survey sketch rather than a written description. The written description of the plot is my construction from the sketch.
