Obituary of Bertha B. Holt
South Boston, VA. -- Bertha B. Holt, 85, of 8117 Phillpott Road, South Boston, Va., died Friday, May 2, 1997, in Halifax Regional Hospital, following a decline in health for several years. She was born in Caswell County, on July 31, 1911, the daughter of Laura Ware Butts and Charles Henry Butts. She was a lifetime resident of Caswell County, was a homemaker, and was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her husband, Judson Grear Holt of the home, to whom she had been married for 70 years. They were married on May 21, 1927. Survivors include one daughter, Laura H. Collie; and two sons, Kenneth G. Holt and Charles L. Holt. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 1997, in Shady Grove United Methodist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Williams. Marley Funeral Home, Yanceyville, is in charge of arrangements."

Mrs. Bettie Moore To Be Buried Today: Funeral services for Mrs. Bettie M. Moore will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of B. E. Powell in Blanch, N. C. Mrs. Moore died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. B. Moore, in Yanceyville yesterday evening at the age of 86. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. S. B. Moore. Yanceyville, N. C., and Mrs. R. N. Shearon, Bunn, N. C., one sister, Mrs. Lydia Watkins. Blanch, N. C. and one brother, A. H. Powell, Sutherlin, Va.
