      This Indenture made this 4th day of February in the year
      of Christ 1847 Between Sarah Devin of the County of Pittsylvania and
      State of Virginia of the one part and Benjamin Foler of said County
      of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Sarah Devin for and
      in consideration of the sum of twenty four dollars and six and [fourth]
      cents current money of Virginia to the said Sarah Divin by the said
      Benjamin Foler in hand paid the receipt whereof the said Sarah Divin
      doth hereby acknowledge at and before the sealing of these [presents] have
      granted bargained sold & conveyed and by these doth grant bargain sell
      & convey unto the said Benjamin Foler a certain tract or parcel of land
      lying and being in the County aforesaid on Banister Creek containing two
      acres & sixty five poles be the same more or less and bonded as follows
      to wit Beginning at a walnut tree in said Foler's line, thence [new] lines S 31
      E 30 3/4 poles to a forked spanish oak N 31 3/4 E 25 po. crossing said Creek
      to James Gatewoods Corner stake thence along said Foler's line N [73] W 30
      poles to the Beginning together with all [and] singular the [appurtonances]
      whatsoever these to belonging or [] anywise appertaining unto the said
      Benjamain Fowler his heirs and assigns forever ^
      [inserted line] to and for the only proper use and profits of said Benjamin Foler his heirs and assigns forever ^
      & the sd Sarah Divin
      doth covenant and agree to and with the said Benjamin Foler that she
      the sd Sarah Divin for herself her heirs Executors administrators and
      assigns shall and will by these forever warrant and defend the
      right and title of said Tract of land unto the said Benjamin Foler
      and his heirs forever free from the claim of the said Sarah Divin and
      from the claim or claims of all and every other person whatsoever
      In witness whereof the said Sarah Devin have hereunto set
      her hand and affixed her seal the day and year above written

      In the Clerks office of the County Court of Pittsylvania the
      13thday of March 1847 This Deed was proved by the oaths of

      and admitted to record
