- 1850 Census shows Levi age 12 with Allen Gilmer Reynolds and Martha Ann Jackson; 1860 Census shows Allen Gilmer Reynolds, Martha Ann (Jackson) and Chesley, age 23. Levi named his 10th child Levi Chester. Martha Ann Jackson married Allen Gilmer Reynolds in 1843. Either may have brought this child to the marriage.
Levi was born a month before Martha Ann was 18 years old. Her father had remarried Polly Stowe and at least two of her siblings were living with her Aunt & Uncle, Levi and Ann Emmerson Jackson.

Levi C. Reynolds is not listed in the 1913 Chancery Suite naming Sarah Philpott Reynolds' Grandchildren. It is likely that Levi who is shown on the 1850 and 1860 Virginia Census Records in this family is not the Levi found in Cecil County, Maryland and who died after the date of this suit.

Obituary Cecil Whig, Maryland Saturday, 4/22/1916:
Levi Reynolds an aged and respected citizen of North East, died suddenly last Saturday, at his home in that town, aged 79 years. The deceased came to this county 42 years ago from Pennsylvania, and was employed in the McCullough Iron Company's mill. He leaves a family of seven sons and two daughters; William T. of Principio Furnace; George O., of Trenton, N.J.; Eli, of Wilmington; Mrs. J. Baker Brown, of Nottingham, Pa., Edward, Robert, Albert and Miss Susie Reynolds, of North East. Mr. Reynolds was a life long Republican and a member of St. Mary's P.E Church for 40 years. The funeral was held on Wednesday with interment at St. Mary's P.E. Cemetery, North East.
