      • BIOGRAPHICAL: Elmira was the first wife of Samuel Matheny and they married in September of 1865. She was 26 years, 1 month, 3 days at the time she died. Marker is in lot 397, next to marker for Samuel Matheny and 2nd wife Eva Eoline Matheny; IOOF Register of Burials - Mrs. Elmira Matheny, age 26 y's, 1 m, 3 d's, d. Marion County, "confinement" (childbirth), wife of Samuel Matheny.

        At the residence of J. B. McLane, Esq., North Salem, on Wednesday, the 13th of January, 1875, at 11:35 p. m., Mrs. Elmira Matheny, wife of Samuel Matheny and youngest daughter of Rev. L. H. Judson.
