- After Joseph Benton Devin's death in 1886 Belle Devin married Stephan LaLande
in Morrow County, Oregon U.S.A. 15 Apr 1889 and the two children of Joseph & Belle assumed
the Lalande name & broke off all connections with the Devin family.
Note by KLV: this may not be true because the two children of Belle & Joseph
were apparently using the Devin name at the time of Stephen Lalande's death; he
left them $250 each in his will.
